At Croxley Danes School , we strive for every learner to be involved in extracurricular activities and there is a rich offer for learners at all key stages. Participation is monitored to enable review of the effectiveness of the provision.
The super curriculum is part of our extracurricular offer.
The Super Curriculum at Croxley Danes School is designed to extend and enrich learners’ learning beyond the classroom. It comprises a diverse range of subject-linked activities that encourage intellectual curiosity, independence, and a deeper engagement with academic content. These activities range from independent reading and research tasks to attending lectures, exhibitions, or museum visits.
For each subject area, Super Curriculum opportunities are organised into the following categories:
Independently Assessed Activities – Structured tasks identified and signposted by subject departments, often designed to stretch and challenge learners beyond the standard curriculum.
Optional Enrichment Activities – Voluntary opportunities open to all learners who wish to further explore a subject or area of interest.
Targeted Activities for Invited learners – Enrichment experiences offered to selected learners based on interest, aptitude, or academic need.
Whole-School and Year Group Opportunities – Broader events and initiatives that promote cultural capital and academic enrichment for entire cohorts.
Through this structured approach, the Super Curriculum supports the development of well-rounded, independent learners who are equipped to thrive both academically and personally.
Our enrichment offer can be found on the school’s website.
